800 MHz Rebanding Resource Guide

The FCC has initiated the implementation of a complex multi-year transition plan to mitigate interference in the 800 MHz band by separating cellular systems and non-cellular systems into different portions of the band.  Under the terms of the FCC’s plan, Nextel is financially responsible for costs incurred by affected licensees during this transition. The FCC also established the office Transition Administrator as an independent party to oversee the administrative and financial aspects of the band reconfiguration process. Rules were adopted that will entitle non-cellular licensees to additional interference protection, given specific system parameters, and outlining obligations upon cellular network operators to correct interference.

Visit the links below for complete information about rebanding and EWA products specifically designed to assist you through the mandated reconfiguration. (Information is consistent with the FCC's original Report and Order, check back with this Web site for updates as the process is refined.)
